They can give a new life to hair however it is tough to find a good cream and we simply cannot waste our time by searching for it continuously. Therefore hair transplant surgery is one of the most effective methods that can be useful for hair treatment. Hair transplant surgery is of different types. One of the most common procedure is strip harvesting. It is called as a customary technique for hair restoration procedure. The Warning Signs of Diabetes

The preliminary indicators of diabetes can be very slight and can simply go unnoticed. A patient may have the disease for several months or potentially years prior to a diagnosis. In the end, you are the only one who knows your body, if you are not feeling yourself, go see your health care provider right away.

Some commonly overlooked diabetes signs are as follows:

You are always thirsty and running to the restroom to urinate. If it seems that no matter how much you drink, you constantly crave more to quench your thirst; this may be a sign that you are dehydrated from frequent visits to the restroom to urinate. The kidneys are working extra hard to clean out and dispose of the excess sugars in the body. If the kidneys fail to keep up, they will gather fluids from other tissues and the blood stream to water down the glucose. This process keeps the bladder filled, which will lead to the need to urinate. Excessive urination leads to dehydration, which triggers thirst.

You can get dried out and scratchy skin as a result of dehydration.

You might experience feelings similar to those encountered with the flu. The body fails to be energized by the sugars and you can feel fatigued, weak, and have a diminished desire for food. These symptoms are like those that you experience with the flu, and be missed altogether.

You may notice changes in your weight. To lose weight with no intention to can be attributed to the continual need to urinate as well as the body's attack on muscle and fat tissues in an endeavor to obtain energy. At a time when you are eating as you usually do or exceptionally more than usual owing to the body's cells need for fuel, you shouldn't be experiencing weight loss. Type 1 diabetics will have a quick drop in weight, rather than Type 2 diabetics who will have a more gradual decline in weight. Then again, weight increase is another symptom, the increased number of fat cells a person has, the larger the possibility of insulin resistance there is.

Your extremities may have tickly feeling or loss of sensation. Increased levels of glucose in the blood can damage the nerves in the hands, legs, or feet. Known as neuropathy, this condition occurs slowly over time. Type 2 diabetic may have the disease for quite some time before this symptom shows up.

Your eyesight may happen to blur. Due to dehydration drawing desired liquid from a variety of tissues, the eyes may be harmed. Dehydration makes the lens of the eye dried out and ability to focus becomes harder. If not found and corrected, the blood vessels of the retina grow to be damaged and fresh vessels are fashioned. Occasionally this only creates slight troubles with eyesight. However, blindness can also result.

You may have wounds or bruises that heal slowly, or suffer frequent infections. Diabetes affects the body's capacity to heal properly and prevent infection. Frequent bladder and vaginal infections are very common in women who suffer from diabetes.

Your gums can become irritated, and sore. With the body's lack of ability to hold back infection, germs run wild. This can cause the gums become contaminated and sores to pop up. The teeth can loosen if infection gets to the bones that support them. If infection in the gums is in existence before the onset of diabetes, abscesses can occur.

When glanced at, the described symptoms do not appear to present a big deal, however when examined more closely they could be diabetes warning signals. The only way to know for certain is to get a check-up. No one knows your body better than you, if something does not feel right, it probably isn't.

Diabetes Facts

What is it?

Diabetes is a disease where the body cannot properly produce or use insulin. Insulin is a hormone that turns the foods you eat into energy. If your body cannot turn food into energy, not only will your cells be starved for energy, you will also build up glucose (sugar) in your blood. This will lead you to have "high blood glucose levels." Over years, the high blood glucose level can damage major organs like your heart, eyes, and kidneys.

Diabetes--What You Need to Know About This Hidden Danger
Statistics:

According to the American Diabetes Association, there are 18.2 million people in the United States with Diabetes. That's 6.3% of the population.

Both men and women can get diabetes. About one-third of Diabetics do not know that they have it. African Americans are 1.6 times more likely to have diabetes than Whites. Latinos are 1.5 times more likely to have diabetes than Whites.

Type 1 is most often found in children, with the peak incidence at puberty. Type 2 is generally found in adults, however an alarmingly growing number of children are now diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes. One of the main causes is overweight.

Diabetic Children May Feel Different
Types:

Type 1 Diabetes is caused by a total lack of insulin that, in turn, produces high blood glucose levels. Type 1 is most often is seen in children, but can develop in adults. If you have Type 1, your health care provider might recommend scheduled, nutritious meals, exercise, medication, and frequent blood sugar level tests.

Type 2 Diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or cannot properly use insulin. This is the most common type. The treatment may be similar to Type 1.

Pre Diabetes or Borderline Diabetes may occur before a Type 2 diagnosis. Blood glucose levels will be higher than normal. Good nutrition and exercise may be recommended by your health care provider as treatment for pre diabetes. Even a slightly high blood sugar level is insidious and could affect major organs over time.

Gestational Diabetes occurs in pregnant women that have high blood glucose levels. This type of Diabetes can harm both Mother and baby. If you have Gestational Diabetes, your health care provider may prescribe meal plans, exercise, daily testing and medicine.

Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes
Symptoms:

The main symptom of diabetes is the lack of insulin activity or the inability for the body to create insulin.

Other symptoms include:

increase in urine production
blurry vision
irritability
extreme hunger
excessive weight loss
increased fatigue
Diabetes: Calling For Double Trouble!
Recognizing early symptoms diabetes
Diabetes and Depression
Causes and Risk Factors:

The exact causes of Diabetes are still unknown. However, heredity, obesity and lack of exercise may play a role. Here are some general risk factors:

Your siblings or parents have diabetes.
You are more than 20% overweight.
You do not exercise.
You have had gestational diabetes or you have had a baby over 9 lbs.
You have high blood pressure.
Your cholesterol level is not normal.
Treatment Options:

According to the American Diabetes Association, people with Diabetes have the same nutritional needs as everyone else. In addition to prescribed medications, well-balanced meals may help you keep your blood glucose level as normal as possible.

Also, just like everyone else, exercise is an important part of staying healthy. Exercising with diabetes does require a few extra safety steps that your health care professional can make you aware of.

Nutritious meals, an exercise routine, along with the help of your doctor may aid you in controlling your Diabetes. Diabetes will never truly go away, but with proper nutrition, exercise and prescribed medications, it can be controlled.

Diabetes, What You Need to Know
Diabetes Awareness: Diabetes on the Job
Outlook:

There is no cure for Diabetes, but the treatment options are becoming better than they've ever been. Self-monitoring devices for blood glucose levels and administering insulin are the areas that have seen the most improvement. The following are a list of new treatment options that are currently being researched:

Insulin Pump Implants - a permanently implanted pump that will measure blood sugar levels and deliver the exact amount of insulin needed.
Insulin Capsule Implant - an insulin capsule that can be implanted to continuously release insulin into the bloodstream.
Insulin Inhaler - a rapid-acting insulin that is inhaled into the mouth. Currently in clinical trials.
Insulin Pill - Currently, the pill form has only been tested in animals.
Continuous Monitoring Device - The GlucoWatch Biographer, a wristwatch-like device, has been approved by the FDA. It is intended as a companion for the fingertip blood test to monitor glucose, in order to ensure accurate results.
Islet Cell Transplant - For people with Type 1 Diabetes, helps patients become insulin free for up to 14 months after treatment. Currently in clinical trials.
Gene Therapy
A Diabetes Vaccine - To prevent or slow the progress of Type 1 Diabetes.

What is the Heart Meditation? Connecting with the Holographic Power of an Electromagnetic Field

During meditation, the heart becomes a holographic, electromagnetic field enabling an individual to experience the sum total of the universe.

In The Biology of Transcendence: A Blueprint of the Human Spirit (Rochester, Vermont: Park Street Press, 2002), Joseph Chilton Pearce relates an incident that happened to him in his biology class decades ago. Two lonely heart cells (taken from a dying rodent), in Petri dishes placed side by side , stopped fibrillating (spasmodic pulsing before death) and resumed regular simultaneous pulsing with each other. Why? A heart cell produces strong electromagnetic signals that can extend more than several feet beyond its boundaries. When placed side by side, these two isolated heart cells became part of a resonating field.

One can understand the powerful synchrony generated by friendly encounters. Love can literally be understood as resonance between cells. The Heart Meditation, which focuses on centering the heart and connecting with a universal source of energy, is a simple way to increase the coherent power of transcendence , the power of healing with love that lies within the heart’s electromagnetic field.

The Heart is an Electromagnetic Field

Electrocardiogram or ECG readings of the heart confirm that the human body produces an electrical field which radiates 12 to 15 feet beyond the body. Recent research suggests, as well, that the electromagnetic (or em) energy produced by the heart spirals out and curves back towards the heart in the shape of a torus, the shape of a donut ring. This torus is holographic; any point within the torus has access to the information of the whole field of the heart. This means that any point within the heart’s electromagnetic field contains all the frequencies of the heart’s spectrum.

The Holographic Power of the Heart

If electromagnetic torus fields are holographic, any point in the heart has access not only to the heart field, but also to universal information. According to Pearce, the universe is a "nested hierarchy of toroid energy systems that extend possibly from the minuscule atom to human to planet, solar system, and ultimately, the galaxy" (59). Being centered in the heart is, in effect, being centered in the universe, allowing one access to an universal source of power. This was why in the 13th century, German theologian, philosopher and mystic, Meister Eckhart, made the claim that “When God becomes Eckhart, Eckhart becomes God” (65).

The Heart Meditation

This sense of power experienced by practitioners of the Heart Meditation is created when one arrives at the point of universal connection through the heart. There are several online versions of the heart meditation which make possible this connection. The Heart Chakra Meditation from Yoga Basics is a powerful tool for releasing fear and enhancing love and compassion. Deepak Chopra’s Advanced Meditation on the Heart dissolves contraction and opens the heart to spirit and insight. Ultimately it leads one to silent assurance, acceptance and appreciation of simply being.

The heart is more than a physical organ that pumps blood through the circulatory system of the human body. It is clearly the source of man’s spiritual essence as well. Given the stressful and splintering nature of modern life, taking a daily dive into the heart meditation can restore one’s sense of purpose and wholeness.

Natural and Herbal Anti-Aging Skincare

Beauty is generally a subjective matter. Although there are those who would connote beauty with the vibrancy of youth, there are also those who appreciate beauty which is ripened with age and maturity. Aging therefore need not be a disappointing and disheartening phenomenon as although it is a fact of life, it can also bring a sense of fulfillment provided it is acknowledged with the proper perspective. Beauty is a manifestation of how a woman loves and takes care of herself regardless of whether she is young or aging. As there are wrinkles, age sports, skin discoloration and dry skin to battle with, a beauty regimen during the aging years may be more conscientious.

The beauty industry has been constantly researching on and introduced beauty products to address the need of beauty conscious aging women who are increasing in number. As of date, there are innumerable anti-aging products available for the wide and lucrative market of women in their 30's and up who are wary about crow's feet and skin sagging. Anti-aging skin care, creams, cosmetic and supplements are some of the anti-aging treatments that a woman can opt to have. As early as the age of 25, the initial manifestations of aging can become apparent in the guise of fine lines on the face, thus it is generally recommended that anti-aging skin care be implemented from this point.

Physical and mental stress that progressively go with age increase the production of free radicals in the body causing signs of aging as well as slowing down of cell renewal. When aging, the skin begins to lose its moisture and elasticity, thus anti-aging skin care must primarily be employed. Through the regular implementation of anti-aging skin care, signs of aging can be combated and delayed. Before it becomes too late, anti-aging skin care measures must be incorporated into a beauty regimen so as not to make the battle against wrinkles and skin drooping arduous later on. The earlier and the longer the anti-aging skin care treatment is applied, the more effective it becomes as it would be unrealistic to expect drastic results from an anti-aging skin care product.

External application of anti-aging skin care should likewise be not the only recourse. Anti-aging treatment measures should be instigated from within as well, thus one must be wary of disobliging habits such as drinking and smoking as they diminish the growth of cells. It is only sensible to eat an ample amount of fruits and vegetables as an inclusion to a well-balanced diet to promote internal and overall health. Anti-aging skin care also includes the augmentation of health supplements that promote cell renewal. There are also anti-aging skin care measures that aid in fat reduction and in re-shaping the body.

It is generally advisable to resort to natural and herbal anti-aging skin care products as they are much safer and effective. Natural anti-aging skin care products deliver the best benefits by revitalizing from within while protecting the skin on the outside. A blend of protein-rich or collagen cream and plant extracts contained within an anti-aging skin care product can be the most suitable choice to address the problem of wrinkles, age spots and skin sagging. Before resorting to an anti-aging skin care product, it is best to consider its suitability to one's skin condition as well as allergic tendencies. Revitol Solution is a safe, natural and effective anti-aging product made available through our store.

It has been proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging. With the right anti-aging skin care product, rejuvenation of the skin and restoration of youthful glow is within reach.

Dealing With your Pets' Allergies

It is Winter time again, a time of the year when pets and humans are very vulnerable to each other. As this is obviously the chilliest time of the year, animals are much more likely to be cooped up inside the house with us. All of the windows and doors are closed to the world and the heat is blasting around the clock.

These are precisely the conditions which make our winter homes playgrounds for some kinds of allergens. Our dogs and cats are considerably vulnerable to the dust in the carpet, the mold inside the walls of your old house and other pets. But warm moist times of the year are high allergy times as well. Allergies are simply the most common conditions affecting cats and according to the Kansas State University, 15% of dogs suffer from common allergies like pollen and house dust. An allergic reaction is the work of an overactive immune system. It is when an animal responds abnormally to a seemingly everyday substance like grass or general food ingredients.

Of the different kinds of allergies, contact allergies are the least common in cats and dogs. An Example of a contact allergen is a flea collar. Grass and various kinds of bedding such as wool are also examples. An Inhalant Allergy is the most common allergy for cats and is also prevalent in dogs. This particular kind of allergy is caused by the hypersensitivity of the immune system to environmental substances. A Flea Allergy is the single most common dog allergy but is also common cats. The normal dog or cat suffers only somewhat minor irritation in lieu of a flea bite with minimal itching.

A food allergy is also somehat common in pets. Cats often become allergic to their most common protein such as tuna. Dogs can be allergic to proteins like chicken and beef. When it comes to allergies, like most things it's a matter of controlling, not curing. Once an animal's body becomes hypersensitive to certain things, it is then eternally vulnerable to those things.

Regarding treatment of allergies, the most common treatments are topical products like shampoos or antihistamines. There are also certain supplements that you can give to your pets to help support

the insides of their bodies, which to an extent determine the condition of the outside. Studies have shown that if we shampoo our pets' coats on a regularl basis, it is much less likely that foreign substances will enter through the skin. Regular bathing discourages allergens -- irritants such as dander and dead hair.

Allergy Approaches through Nutrition

Spring in New York City is a really magical time. Flowers and tree buds bring so much beauty to our coveted parks. I was walking through the park this past week and was really loving the site of all those bright, yellow daffodils! However, I also noticed more than one person sneezing in less than a matter of minutes!

If you happen to be an allergy sufferer, before you run right out and purchase the latest over-the-counter-stop-the-sneezing-pill. Try some of these natural nutrition and lifestyle approaches and keep your body running smooth and clean.

Allergy Approaches - through Nutrition

Many of us are more than familiar with hay fever's dominating symptoms this time of year, but what a lot of people don't know is that it is actually an allergy to proteins in the pollen of trees, grasses and other plants. The pollen in the air increases during blossoming season (just when everything is looking so pretty!)

The immune system is actually designed to recognize that pollen is harmless, but people who suffer from allergies have an over the top reaction when pollen comes in contact with their nose and eyes.

Will being aware of certain foods help ease this suffering? Oh, yes. Here are a few:

1) Reduce Dairy Intake - especially for allergy sufferers, dairy products can inhibit breathing and increase mucus. Reduce dairy, increase breathing.

2) Cayenne Pepper - this spice contains an anti-inflammatory substance called capsaicin which helps relieve allergies. Sprinkle liberal amounts of cayenne pepper on your food for a few days and feel the effects!

3) Oregano - this herb acts as an expectorant and helps clear congestion. Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 tsp of fresh oregano or 1 tsp of dried oregano. Steep for 10 minutes, strain and drink throughout the day as needed.

4) Horseradish - this condiment has an extreme ability to thin abundant mucus so it can drain from the nasal passages. Eat as much as you can tolerate (yummy on crackers!) or make a tea by combining horseradish, lemon juice and honey. Drink throughout the day.

5) Vitamins E and C - these two power vitamins help support healthy immune function as well as prevent allergic response. Your best bet for intake increase: (C ) - citrus fruits, bell peppers, chiles, amaranth, berries, cabbage, parsley, potatoes, sprouts, tomatoes (E) - nuts, seeds, whole grains, dark green leaves of cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, dandelion greens, sprouts, asparagus, cucumbers and spinach.

The Dreaded Peanut Allergy

One of the best dietary proteins consumed in the United States is peanut butter. Even with its high level of popularity, eating peanuts at the local sports arena or rodeo, sitting around with the family snacking in front of a fire, or sending a child off to school with the ultimate - peanut butter and jelly sandwich, peanuts are one of America's highest allergenic foods.

One of the main problems for people with a peanut allergy is that more and more foods are being made with peanuts or peanut oil. Making matters worse is that for people who know they have a peanut allergy, the ingredient is often masked on the label as "groundnuts" or "hydrolysed vegetable protein." Although you cannot deny the wonderful flavor of peanuts, for people with a peanut allergy, even trace amounts can be deadly.

Just imagine having a peanut allergy and going out to dinner. You check the menu carefully, choosing food without peanuts. Unbeknownst to you, dinner arrives at the table and within minutes of eating the so-called "innocent" meal, you begin to have symptoms associated with a peanut allergy. The problem is that while the menu item did not contain peanuts, it was cooked in peanut oil. This scenario happens all the time and can be deadly.

Unlike other nut allergies, a peanut allergy, if serious, can prove to be fatal within minutes. Most often, the throat will begin to swell whereby the person cannot breathe. While this is the most critical symptom of a peanut allergy, other symptoms might include at varying levels:

Hives

Itchy or swollen lips, tongue, mouth, or eyes

Flushed face

Tightness in the throat, mouth, and/or chest

Running noise

Change in voice

Nausea and/or vomiting

Trouble breathing or swallowing

Wheezing, choking, and/or coughing

Onset of severe fatigue and/or dizziness

If the peanut allergy is new, then emergency care is needed immediately following any of the above symptoms. If the individual is aware of having a peanut allergy, a shot of epinephrine can be carried around discretely and administered at the first sign.

If you are sensitive to foods or notice changes after eating peanuts, then chances are you have some degree of a peanut allergy. In this case, it is crucial that you be tested by an allergist to determine if this is in fact a problem. If so, then the good news is that foods made with peanuts can usually be substituted with other nuts such as pecans or walnuts with little to no problem. Be sure to read labels carefully, when dining out, always ask if the food contains or is made with any type of peanut or peanut oil, and never share utensils with someone eating foods that might contain peanuts or peanut oil.

While immunotherapy has helped some people with a peanut allergy, remember that this type of allergy does not have a cure other than to avoid peanuts or peanut oil. Having a peanut allergy does not have to be something to fear as long as you are informed about the things being consumed.

Living With a Latex Allergy

The interesting thing about latex is that it is a huge part of our society, often without being noticed. For example, carpet backing, pencil erasers, baby pacifiers, wheelchair tires, toys, balloons, and even elastic in clothing is latex. However, most people relate latex to adhesive tape used in hospitals, which is yet another example. Because so many people have latex allergy and the number of things made from latex is growing, symptoms are on the rise.

Take the healthcare industry for example - this particular area is surrounded by latex in the form of tape, surgical gloves, disposable syringes, and blood pressure cuffs. Because doctor's offices, clinics, and hospitals use so much latex, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health have released results of a study that show a minimum of 12% of all healthcare workers eventually deal with some level of latex allergy. Even so, the biggest concern regarding latex allergy relates to children with disability since their small, sick bodies are highly sensitive and susceptible, putting them at greater risk.

Keep in mind that when it comes to latex allergy, there are many different forms of reaction, some minor and some major. For instance, a Type 1 latex allergy is considered as hypersensitive, which produces symptoms ranging from minor such as watery eyes and a runny nose to more severe problems that would include nausea and vomiting, hives, and shortness of breath. With Type 1, the problem is that latex particles become airborne and then inhaled.

For Type 4 latex allergy, the reaction is limited to any exposed area. This would include someone having surgery and the bandages being held on by latex tape. The result is a skin rash and irritation, swelling, and redness that typically lasts anywhere from 24 to 48 hours. Obviously, this type of latex allergy is not nearly as serious although it is quite frustrating.

Keep in mind that latex is actually a natural product that comes from a rubber tree’s sap. Because it is so flexible, strong, and costs very little to manufacture, it takes first place over many similar manmade products. If you suspect that you have a latex allergy, you can see your doctor for a thorough examination and blood work. This test involves looking at a certain antibody called IgE immunoassays, which is performed through skin testing.

This particular test is currently being approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and while it is highly accurate for proving latex allergy, it is not designed to determine the severity of the allergy. Therefore, in addition to the testing, if you have reaction to latex, you should avoid using it, turning instead to vinyl or plastic.

Identifying a Nickel Allergy

While we have all heard of people having a dust mite allergy, dog or cat allergy, peanut allergy, gluten allergy, and so on, very few of us have heard of the people living with a nickel allergy. Even so, the number of people living with a nickel allergy is actually on the rise, partly due to the ever-increasing popularity with body piercing in which nickel is a common metal. In fact, experts estimate that people with a nickel allergy has risen by as much as 40% over the past 10 years, specific to piercing.

With a nickel allergy, the symptoms can strike people of all ages and both genders. While some people will have immediate reaction, most will have a reaction caused by prolonged exposure to the nickel. If you have a nickel allergy and like piercings, then you might consider using stainless steel, gold, or silver instead.

Other people who have a nickel allergy include those working with various chemicals or machinery that involves nickel such as hairdressers, hospital staff, or those working with cleaning chemicals. The problem is that for alloy to be produced, nickel is added to other metals. Therefore, nickel could easily be a component of many things we use throughout our daily lives without us even knowing it. For example, eyeglasses, watches, belt buckles, and even zippers all have nickel. For the person with the nickel allergy, this would be a problem.

Other items commonly made from with degree of nickel include pens, razors, scissors, handles on kitchen or bathroom cabinets, cigarette lighters, catches on purses, toasters, needles, and so on. If you have a bad nickel allergy, you can actually purchase a testing kit that can help you identify the things you handle daily that might be a contributing factor. Although avoiding everything with nickel would be difficult, at least you would know some of the items to avoid.

Just as nickel should be avoided by touch, there is also concern about food consumption. Generally, if someone has a serious nickel allergy, his or her doctor would prescribe a nickel-restricted diet in which foods high in nickel would be eliminated. Some of the foods would include:

Beans
Buckwheat
Chocolate
Dried Fruit
Figs
Lettuce
Licorice
Linseed
Millet
Multigrain Breads
Nuts
Oats
Onions
Peas
Pineapple
Prunes
Raspberries
Salmon
Shellfish
Soy Powder
Spinach
Tea
Tomato
Wheat Bran or Wheat Bran Products...and more

Generally a person with a nickel allergy will experience skin rash and irritation. This dermatologic effect can be magnified by humidity and sweat. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to desensitize the person living with a nickel allergy using pills, shots, or other forms of treatment. Therefore, the best method of treatment is avoidance. If a rash does develop from the nickel allergy, usually cortisone cream will help.

What One Should Know About Allergies

Allergies affect approximately 60 million Americans, which means one in every five adults or children suffer from them, and are common in men as well as in women. Thirty-five million people have upper respiratory symptoms, which are allergic reactions to airborne pollen. Around 10 million Americans have allergies to cats and two million present severe reactions to various insect stings.

Food allergies are less common in the family of allergies. About one out of three people pretend to have a food allergy and only about three to eight percent of children younger than three years old, and only one percent of adults really have an allergic reactions to food.

Unfortunately, food allergies are blamed for close to 200 deaths every year. Scientists say that allergies have to do with genetics. If one parent has allergies, there are 33% chances that each child will suffer from a form of allergy. If both parents are allergic, it is very much possible (seven cases out of 10) that their children will be allergic, too. If we are to discuss about allergies, we should have in view the fact that allergies usually stay with adults, while children sometimes outgrow them.

An allergy is in fact the response of your body to something that it perceives as a threat. Your body fights the allergen in the same way it would fight a virus or a bacterial infection. We can take as an example the pollens of some plants that are small and light and can be taken away by the winds for miles. Ragweed pollen has been found 400 miles out at sea and two miles up in the atmosphere.

What are Allergies?

Allergies are exaggerated reactions of the immune system to substances that, in the majority of people, cause no symptoms. Symptoms of the allergic diseases may be caused by exposure of the skin to a chemical, of the respiratory system to particles of dust or pollen (or other substances), or of the stomach and intestines to a particular food. This immune overreaction can results in symptoms such as rashes, hives, lower blood pressure, difficulty breathing, coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose and scratchy throat.

These overreactions by the body result from an aberration somewhere in the normal immune process. The exact causes of these allergic reactions are not always apparent, however, many studies have been conducted with with varying validity and acceptance that point to possible genetic as well as environmental components.
